How i passed tye nclex

I took my exam on the 10th of October. After completing 75 questions in an hour and 45 minutes I attempted the PVT and found out the next day I passed the boards!!

This is my short little story on what I did to get myself ready for this nerve wrecking exam! In nursing school I had to attempt the Exit HESI 3X until I passed it and not wanting to have that same feeling of failing an important exam once again I decided to dedicate my time towards the NCLEX!!

Once I was through with school I decided to buy the Saunders comprehensive 5th edition, enroll in KAPLAN (or buy the book) and use lacharity from a previous class as my main study tools. I also used the study guide floating around allnurses during this time. After completing the KAPLAN course I gave myself 3 weeks to take the exam. During this time I completed all Qtrainers averaging between 46-52%. And completed 150 Qbank questions per day. At the end of using KAPLAN I completed only 50 percent of Qbank questions averaging 56-60% on each test. Whether I got the answer right or wrong I wanted to read the rationales of each answer to get a better understanding my I got the question right or wrong.

During this time I also set a 3 week Schedule to read and complete Saunders questions from the end if each chapters. I read about 5 chapters a day and completed about 75-100 questions per day from the Saunders book. This book is amazing and great for content review.

Four days before I was to take my exam I decided to close my books and use the study guides to study. I continued to use the study guide three days before my exam as well as using KAPLAN Qtrainers. Two days before my exam I decided to relax not look at any material and hit the gym and watch tv afterwards. It is important to relax the day before your exam so you have a fresh mind when entering the testing center.

Before I went to sit for my exam I competed about 1500 questions and knew my weakness. I studied hard and kept in control of future by not stressing out during my exam! I used my scented therapeutic lotions before my exam to relax me! Learn to breath and think positive during the exam! Once you think negative you will go down hill from there! Stay positive and once day you will pass and be called a RN.

Congrats and thanks
