How much did school cost you?

Published

Hello all you 1st yr. RN's! I am getting ready to start the ADN program in January. About how much did an ADN cost you? I'll be getting financial aid in the form of grants for most of my tuition. I am curious about the total cost though, books, supplies, uniforms, etc. I am going to have to take out student loans for childcare and I guess I need to know how much I'll need. Thanks in advance! Please share.

Our school gives us this info, all the way from the cost of the 1st class. Maybe your school does the same, ask the office where you applied. My NS will cost, at MOST $2000 a semester. We have a hospital that will pay for it all, up to $2K each semester. They tell you that 1st sem. is the most expensive because of everything you have to purchase (supplies, steth, uniforms, books). Some of the books you buy 1st semester will follow you to the end, some you will have to purchase in other semesters. Here is what our $ schedule says...but don't forget, this includes all classes from your 1st english comp class to graduation.

Tuition:

72 credits X $53.00 per credit hr...................3816.00

Books..................................................$700-$1200

Lab Fees......................................$15.00-$50.00/lab

Exam.........................................................$200.00

Fingerprinting Process....................................$49.00

I am too lazy this Saturday morn to add this up for you. Sorry. Each school charges different for credit hours, etc. but this should give you some sort of idea. Also, my program is 4 semesters long.

Woogy
