Oct 15, 201312 yr Even though I know my program was highly over priced reading these threads makes me feel like I paid more than most people do. My program was $28,000 and I graduated in 2010. How much was your program and what year did you graduate?

Oct 26, 201312 yr The LPN program that I'm in currently is about $5400 for the 3 semesters, but that doesn't include books (which on Amazon, totalled to about $400 in all) & uniforms which were about $200.
Oct 27, 201312 yr $ 12,000 including books & uniforms. I saved about half on books by buying them used on Amazon.

How much was your program and what year did you graduate?I attended a local community college and I will say that I didn't pay anywhere near $28K for it. We basically covered everything except psych stuff. Here where I am you have to be an RN to be a psych nurse or behavioral health nurse. We did the normal beginning nursing stuff then went on to pediatrics, and also maternal/L&D, pharmacology classes, administering IV medications, wound care. I feel like I got a good basic overall education to be an LPN. I managed to pass the NCLEX-PN exam on my first try. I feel confident that I can handle being an LPN. I'm now enrolled in a LPN to BSN program so my education is by no means overPS: Got my Practical Nursing certificate in 2012 - Tuition at our local community college system is approx $130 per credit hour. Affordable for someone like me without a lot of money plus they take monthly installment payments for tuition without interest. As opposed to the local "big name" university which is up to I believe around $400 a credit, and even higher for some private colleges.
Oct 28, 201312 yr I paid $32000 at Kaplan College. Graduated October 2011 in southern CA.[/quote'] Ditto for me and my program costs. But I'm in Northern California. Before people make assumptions as to whether the costs of a program are "too expensive" it's important to consider the costs at other local programs and the new grad job opportunities as well as the pay rate for new grads.
Oct 28, 201312 yr Does anyone know if there's an LPN/LVN school in Maryland? And, if it's 'cheaper' (or, more affordable) compare to nearby states? Thanks ahead!
Oct 29, 201312 yr Nothing.. except for graduation fees which were about $500 all together. I did it in my high school so it was free.
Oct 29, 201312 yr The only thing I paid was my uniform ($200), if books were over the $100 allotment, and a quarterly $35 technical fee. My state had a HOPE grant that covered adults that went back to school plus up to $100 per quarter for books; any book allowance left over was sent to you in a refund check! I graduated in 2007 with zero debt.
