If someone had to apply to the same school 5 times, then that program was pretty competitive or there were alot of students applying. I applied for the first time ever this Jan 2010 and to ONLY 1 university. I got accepted. I guess it depends on the numbers applying, your grades, etc...
The program I'm referring to got in excess of 1200 applications last year, to fill 100 seats.

I thought it might help those of us on this board who are still trying, to find out how many times and/or how many programs you applied to before you got that acceptance letter? I've heard of people applying five years in a row to the same school.
