Hello!
My wife and I are thinking of moving to New York. My wife is a newly graduated RN, and our decision to move really hinges on whether my wife will be able to find employment around NYC. We've been reading these forums a lot and the mood seems to be pessimistic at the moment. Being a total geek, I would really like some data to look at to see how bad things are... So if you are a RN working in or around NYC or looking for employment in NYC, I would like to know:
- Have you have found a job as a RN?
- How many years of prior experience did you have?
- Did you get your job by knowing somebody or applying directly?
- How long did it take you to find a job?
- Your starting salary (optional)
- On a scale of 1 - 10 how satisfied are you with your job?
- In you opinion what does it take to get a job in NYC?
Go ahead and add any additional info you might think interesting! If I get enough replies I can compile some stats and we can all see what we're dealing with here.
Many thanks!
