I'm interested in holistic nursing, but I'm not sure how to get into it and further my education. Can you get an actual degree in holistic nursing or are there just different certificates that you can get? Also, what type of jobs can you get as a holistic nurse?

There is not a "degree" per se, but you can become certified as a Holistic Nurse through the American Holistic Nurses Association. Some BSN programs are also marked as "holistic programs" through this organization. The AHNA also has information about various certifications you can obtain, as well as the requirements needed before you can take the certifying exam. If you have the time and money I would also suggest attending the conference (held every May or June), lots of presentations to pick from and you can get a better idea of the job opportunities out there. I went this past year and it was very inspiring!

I would become a member first of the Holistic Nurses Association. You CAN get a Masters in Holistic Nursing, but I've not found a BSN program that has this focused specialty. However, I've done a lot with University of Phoenix and their BSN program is VERY holistic and follows the theories of Dr. Jean Watson.
