I have a PRN (pool) unit clerk job as of about 1 month ago and I absolutely love it! But I have two questions about staying healthy. First, any tricks of the trade on getting coffee before 1000 after getting up at 0530 just to be barely on time? (Yes we all know that coffee is an essential part of the health discussion :). I have instant coffee, but I don't even have time to heat water in the morning, I basically throw my scrubs on and tear out the door!
Thing two, of course when I get home I inhale some supper and sleep like a baby But recently, I've been wanting to basically sleep for the next day or two and that doesn't fit too well with studying for a test less than 48 hours away. How do you do it? Is it just a matter of getting used to it and building stamina? Do you sleep extra hours before a shift? All advice welcome!!
Thanks!
