How to get certified in a specialty?

I have MS and can no longer work outside of my home. I have been trying for over a year to find a work at home job in nursing. I've applied for everything from telephonic nursing, case management, to utilization review. I was a travel nurse working in ICU before transitioning into home health case management. I've been a nurse for over 11 years. I have looked into trying to get certified in a specialty but you have to work in that field for a minimum of 1-2 years before you can sit for the test. So you need the certification to get a job but you cannot get certified with having worked in that position. It's crazy!! I was granted SSDI but I don't want to be on disability when I know I have so much to offer. Can anyone please offer some advice? I'm just hitting walls....
