Do I have to graduate before taking the NCLEX? I've heard about people taking them in their last semester of school but I'm confused on when one is allowed to take it. My instructors have different stories too because its been a long while for some of them and the BRN website isn't very helpful. Thanks. :)

This is from the Calif BRN. Hope it helps. I believe that you must have all courses comleted before testing though. Good luck!

If you are in a traditional program, you MAY take the NCLEX-RN in your third year, as by this time, you should have completed all of the CORE nursing curricula. If you are in an accelerated program, or an ASN or diploma program, you MUST first complete it before you are eligible.
