How do credits transfer to LPN Bridge Programs once you have your LPN????

Published

What I mean is, if you go to a private tech/ vocational school for LPN, will there be any per-reqs to take for the bridge program??? I'm sure it's not a seamless transition but I'm interested in LPN because I have another year of pre-reqs for the RN program and it seems like, as of now, this could be a quicker route..........

Honestly, it depends on the school you are going to for the bridge program. Each one has different criteria. I searched schools until I found one that I did not need to take any pre reqs for. The school I am about to graduate from, accepted my LPN license as the only Prerequisite. There are some classes such as english, sociology and math that most programs expect you to take in order to get a degree. Some of them want them finished before you begin the bridge program, some of them will allow you to take them while enrolled.

The programs that have a long waitlist are the ones that usually require you to have pre reqs.

You will have to look up the criteria at each individual school.

I got my LPN first because it was faster and no pre reqs needed. It has taken me about a total of 3 and 1/2 years from beginning to end ( with many breaks) to go from nada to ADN.
