Hi everyone, I'm glad you are here. I am a BSRN in oncology with the need to relocate to the Houston area. I have been working for over a yr in this dept and am wondering if anyone can tell me the hourly rate for Houston and what the job prospects are. :) thanks

A natural job prospect for you would be MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, oncology specialty with a Bone Marrow Transplant unit. I lived there years ago so couldnt speak to todays salaries. Best of luck!
I suggest using Salary.com, which asks for inputs to give you the most accurate salary range for the city you will be relocating to. It will ask you to input the general title of your current or future job, ie staff RN, management RN, NP, specialty areas, numbers of years of experience, educational level, additional certifications or specialized skills, type of setting ie acute care, Long term care, Home Health etc. While you're researching, one of the handiest tools I have ever used is the relocation salary wizard: it provides a comparison of incomes relative to cost of living;ie: If you were earning
50,000 in chicago,IL , you will only need to make 37,000 in Belleville IL to have the same standard of living. This is essential information to have especially when relocating from a rural area to an urban area.
