Housing tips much appreciated (: (Phoenix, AZ)

Hi! I am about to embark on my 1st *real* travel contract. I've been doing local travel for the past 4 years. Staying with my current agency, I am slotted to start @ a Phoenix AZ facility in less than 2 weeks. I currently reside in Arkansas.

Housing is not provided, so I will need to find a place to live for at least 14 weeks....I really need suggestions for how to go about this. My lease is up on the house I've been renting for the past 18 months for my last assignment, my son graduated and is moving to his dad's for college, and my biggest concern is if I should go to the trouble of packing up my things and moving them with me cross country? Or should I put all my stuff into storage and look for an efficiency that rents by the week (most of the ones here are not exactly nice, but no idea what they're like in Phoenix)? I can't imagine that anyone is willing to rent an apartment or house for that short a time period, so...what are my other options?
