A friend from uni said that upon graduation, a nurse must do a certain amount of nursing hours in a year to be eligible for renewing their registration. Is this correct? Because I was thinking, upon finishing nursing and getting my registration, that I will continue in my current non-nursing job for a year and then commence nursing in a new grad program in the new year (2013)?
Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks lovelies. :)

It's 20 CPD hours in 12 months that you need to re-register. Have a look at the Nursing and Midwifery Board's website: Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia - Home it has all that information.

3 months full-time in 5 years. Just take note of the 20 hrs CPD a year.
