I am starting an ADN program in soon and have applied for a nursing scholarship. It pays all costs, including a uniform allowance, exam fees, etc. In return, you make a 2 year commitment to work at the hospital. They will not come out and say it is a guarantee of a job when you graduate but it as close to that as can be. If I get the scholarship, I would need to start working at the hospital within two months of program completion and NCLEX passage.
I would love input. Have you gotten such a scholarship or know others that have gotten this support? Details: $1000 penalty and 8% of any balance not worked off (if you work for 1 year and then leave, you owe 50% of money paid by the hsp and $1000 due immediately, work 1 1/2 years, owe 25% & $1000, etc.) I am excited as this is a wonderful, wonderful hospital!
Any comments are appreciated.
Thanks!
