Hospital interviews..

Published

From your experience, do hospitals hire "on the spot" or are they more of the "we have 1 more week of interviews and we'll let you know"?

I have an interview set up for Tues morning with the charge nurse on the unit I would be working. It was a fluke I even got called IMO. One day last week I was looking for a new job and submitted my resume to all jobs I qualified for online. I get a call from a hospital 5 days later scheduling an interview on Tues. I only have 8 months of experience in LTC and would really like THIS hospital job.

Any pointers on how I can look more appealing regardless of my 8 months of experience? I know I'll be going up against those who have more work exp. and have more to offer and it will be tough to compare. I currently work 11-7 and hardly feel I have gotten any experience because there has been a limited amount of pateint/doctor/family interaction on that shift. I know I have strong qualities and will use those but still.. I feel inferior right now.
