hospitals are willing to pay more to make near-universal healthcare work, said lynn nicholas, chief executive of the massachusetts hospital association, but she tied the organization's support to the defeat of an unrelated measure pending in the senate. that bill would set minimum nurse staffing requirements and require hospitals to hire more nurses.

shame on the massachusetts hospital association :nono:

This is what I hate about politics. You have to sell your soul to the devil to avoid getting punished by the devil. And the general public never bothers to see what is really going on.

This is what I hate about politics. You have to sell your soul to the devil to avoid getting punished by the devil. And the general public never bothers to see what is really going on.

The devil masquerades as an angel of light, indeed, quite capable of bestowing 'gifts;'

to the spirit of error belong greediness, slow hands in the service of righteousness, wickedness and falsehood, pride and smugness, lying and deceit.

As direct care registered nurses we have a righteous vision for health care, and we shall not be deterred from it. We won't trade our souls for empty promises. Besides, we have the gift of intelligence and discernment. Any fool could see that the hospital association doesn't have the money or the resources to provide universal health care, and they will fail to deliver. How could anyone believe them, that giving up the fight for safe, therapeutic, and effective nurse to patient ratios, in exchange for their "empty" promise is a reasonable course of action?
