Hopkins vs. Emory

Published

Hey Everyone,

I am new to this forum. I need some advice on admission decision. I was recently accepted into both Johns Hopkins and Emory University's masters fnp programs full time. I do not know which offer to accept. Emory has always been my dream school. However, I know Hopkins has a good fnp program as well. I currently live in Baltimore and is employed as a RN at Hopkins so that seems like the more logical decision. But I have always wanted to move to south as well. Here are some pros of going to Hopkins, living at home, really good school, and I already know their system since I am employed at the hospital. The pros for Emory is their full time program is 18 months (which is a semester shorter than Hopkins), new environment, and also my dream school. Both tuitions are really expensive. With Emory I would have to consider housing which is another cost but since the program is a semester shorter than Hopkins then both tuitions end up costing around the same. So my question for you guys is if you're a NP student at either Hopkins or Emory could you please share your experiences. I want to choose the school that I would feel most comfortable going to for the next year and half to 2 years. Please let me know. Thanks.
