NCLEX exam story!! Never give up on your dreams! If you can dream, you can do it!

It has been a long journey and very depressing at times. During this whole time my husband Mark has been there by my side through all the ups and downs. He has helped find anything and everything to help me study and listened to me read things out to help me remember them. I graduate May 2016 and I've taken the NCLEX RN several times. I used UWorld for 2 months and that didn't help me prepare for any of my exams, Hurst online review is excellent for content and I highly recommend this to anyone needed content, and Saunders review book is easy to read and gives more content and questions along with it.

I just tested again July 17th and again got all 265 along with the new research questions at the end of the exam. I felt defeated once again. I studied mainly NCLEX mastery app this time (I completed all but 300 questions the first time and then I cleared the results and started the app over again and completed all 1842 questions the second time) and used somethings my husband found online. On the drive home my husband tried the Pearson Vue Trick and my results were on hold. Unsure what that meant and still thinking that I failed once again. Read where other people had the hold results pop up also and had it change after 24 to 48 hours and then some people failing after results off hold. I had to sit and wait to see if mine changed also. Tried again after 24 hours and the results still showed it was still on hold.

While checking in the morning of my exam they were having troubles getting my palm scanned and had to redo my palm scan completely. I thought this might had something to do with it. Around 1900 on July 18th my husband tried the trick again and the good pop up came up. I'm still in disbelief that I have finally passed this exam. It has been the most difficult exam I've ever taken. I passed my LPN boards with 85 questions 3 & ½ years ago on the first try. I can finally say I have passed the RN boards as well. I definitely had God by my side this whole time and my husband. Anyone else struggling to pass their boards please don't ever give up and stay positive. Yes it is hard, but get rid of all the negative people in your life and find some positive people to encourage you along the way and you too can pass.

If you can dream it, you can do it! Never give up on your dreams! No matter how discouraged you get and at times you will feel like you've hit rock bottom and there is no hope, pick yourself up, dust yourself off and hold your head up high and know you made it through nursing school and you can achieve this. This will only make you a better nurse because when your patients tell you that they are at wits end you can say, " I know how you feel, I've been there and you can get back on top." If anyone has questions or needs someone to vent to please don't hesitate to respond and I will get back to you. I'm here also just if you need someone to talk to that will understand what you are going through and that will listen to you. All of us nurses need to stick together and help each other out! Positive encouragement will help anyone accomplish their dreams!

@justme1982, RN -- First off, congratulations for passing! Thank you for sharing this. I also used UWorld and was not successful, even though I scored with a Very High Chance of passing based on my 2nd assessment (few days before my exam). Now, I'm trying to figure out where to begin. When you used the NCLEX Mastery App, did you take both of the simulation exam? Do you mind sharing your scores? Also, what other sources did you use to prepare?
