I am getting ready to change my major from an associate degree to a diploma degree. With the associate degree I received the maximum Pell Grant. When I went for advisement for what type of financial aid I could expect changing to a diploma degree (LPN) I was told that I would qualify for the HOPE Grant as well as the Pell Grant? Does anyone have experience in this matter? I am in disbelief to find out that when I lowered my degree I am now qualified to receive more financial aid? If someone could let me know, I would be greatly appreciative.

I received the Hope grant while doing my prereqs for my RN program because I did the prereqs at a technical college. It paid all my tuition and a stipend for books, so I was able to use my Pell grant to pay for living expenses. Saved me from having to take out loans at that time - pretty awesome!
Thank you, it does!
