Ok I just looked at their website and they are a company that provides continuing education for nurses it is not a nursing school persay.

oh ok thank you

Specializes in Med Assistant, EMT and CNA.

I was in 7Eleven this morning getting my coffee and there was a student from Homestead getting coffee as well. I asked her was she going to nursing school at Homestead and she said yes.

I asked her how was it and she said it was great and she liked it. So it is out there.

Best to go to the California Board of Vocational Nursing website and get the full listing of schools. Homestead is on there.

They have a website too I believe.

Look it up.

Good Luck everyone.:wink2:

i am at a different lvn program and am thinking about switching to Homestead. I called them today and they said they have class M-Th. from 9-3. I think there are classes on the weekend every once in awhile too. Im not really sure how it all works. I have to go in and talk to them more about it. Im hoping to go in tomorrow. Have you heard anymore about the program?

Upon more digging around I fund its on Hawthorne Blvd in Torrance. Tuition is right there on the site $22k and they intice you with a free laptop. They make you take A&P and Intro to Psych before admission.

they offer A&P and Psych in their 1st term. it is not a pre-req'. and it is now 28k. however they offer financial aid. they say the lap top is free, however do not disburse until your first financial aid disbursment is recieved.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!! DO NOT TAKE THE EAST WAY OUT, AND CHOOSE THIS SCHOOL !!!

if you have to wait longer, or pay more, or drive farther, believe me, you would rather, than to put up with what goes on at this school ! this is not a student who got called on their crap, and is angry, my whole class, has been concerned since we started, and only gotten worse. half or more of a whole other class, went to another school. if you dare question anything here, weather it be about your financial aid, your legal rights, your BOOKS!!!! (the list goes on) , they consider you to be disrespectful. they are dishonest, demoralizing, show favoritism, and the owner is greedy!! you pay $28,000, and the owner will not even provide worksheets or handouts even though each student has a contract that stated they pay $800 for handouts and worksheets. they have few and crappy clinical sites,(for the most part). one of them, is in such a bad location, where there are bullet proof windows at all the nearby fast food restraunts. they are soo unethical and unprofessional, if you ask them one question that hits a nerve, or they dont know the answer to , or they are proved wrong about something, they hold a grudge, and make SURE you pay for it, and give you the cold shoulder, for a long long time, if not the rest of your time there. rather than to "humble" themselves, research with the student ,and learn together. nobody is perfect , and nobody expects them to be, except themselves. the school just has an overall feeling of " who the heck are these people " these few things, are just things that will hopefully not cause any trouble right now, but hopefully enough info to fill you in on what goes on here. you find no reviews on this school cause its only been doing lvn since 2007. and very very oddly, i found 1 review on the BBB, and now it's not there. it was talking about them being unorganized. which is also true, they are going through alot of changes, which wouldnt be so bad, if they just dealt with them properly, and not give bull crap answers to paying students such as " nurses are flexible" ...

I WOULD NOT recommend Homestead School to any one. I was a student there and I left because of administration not treating students right. They accused students of cheating but its the administration cheating on their students because they changed the students grades just for them to get money from financial aid. The school is very disorganized, no sense of direction. They have students who are like ghetto and no respect. The school is all about taking YOUR money. NO QUALITY education. They have instructors who barely speak straight English and when you ask question the instructor just laugh or say "google it". They just take anybody who is APPROVED for financial aid. Most of their students cannot DO simple math and cannot read, it frustrates me because our instructor let each student read the power point and many students cannot read and it delays the lecture so what is this? A reading session like in elementary school? What a waste of time and money. So if you pay $28,500 tuition fees, you might as well go to a established high quality standard school like American Career College like what I did and not waste your money at Homestead School. THe school is staffed with a bunched of Philipino instructors who are always speaking in their native language and administration do not really care so if you go to this school as if you are in the Philippines LOST!!!! These Philippino instructors are so timid and naive that they just DO whatever the owner tells them to do so even though it will hurt their ethics and professionalism, that only shows that this school has low standard of education. Good luck to those students who are still enrolled at Homestead
