hello everyone, i have been reading posts here for a while and finally decided to register. we are looking for home health nursing software. those who are computerized already and have had an experience with the different formats can give us ideas regarding how to go about this. i have seen many demos but nothing can compare with someone who has real world experience handling a particular software program in the field and witnessing its productivity.

we have looked at allscripts, also called mysis software, and are now checking out igea. anyone with any experience with these two please let me know what you like or don't like about each software.

i am also looking at healthcare synergy which is just billing and office based. we prefer a format that has clinical and back office components that are linked. some of the prices are outrageous, but we are a startup, so the costs matter to us, especially if they will not ask for it upfront.

anyone with any experience with software, please share the name and the experience you have had and whether you would recommend it to anyone else.

i have also heard that some are not web based applications and are 'superior' because they are off the internet.

thanks in advance, any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Hi... I have seen lots of apps that are so helpful. But many times I saw some legal issues with a medical app. I think that the person who writes apps, try new ideas. There is no doubt that they did a good job.

We use Allegheny. It's not perfect of course. But is pretty user friendly and the support/tech people are fairly prompt. Our IT lady works with them closely - I haven't had to do much with them directly. But as a field nurse, I can say that it is not hard to learn and does contain most of the pertinent info needed for both routine charting as well as Medicare requirements
