Hi everyone,
I'm thrilled to be starting an anesthesia program in August and I'm trying to get everything in order. My big question is, with regards to groups/institutions/states that will assume your loans, will they only pay back debt in the form of education loans? I ask because I need to refinance my mortgage at some point this year and am wondering if there are any benefits to taking out an additional home loan instead of an education loan. I am early in this process and still need to see how rates compare, but thought I would seek some advice from other soon-to-be SRNAs, SRNAs and CRNAs. Thanks!

You can always write off the interest on a home equity loan on your taxes. I'm not sure that an educational loan qualifies as a tax write off.
