Hi, I'm writing an 8-10 page paper on a health care issue. I wanted to write it on the use and effectiveness of complementary and alternative medicine to reduce pain and stress in patients. Do you think this topic is to broad or narrow to find information on? If it's too narrow, should I change it to a specific category of alternative medicine (i.e. chinese medicine) or a specific type of patient (i.e. hospitalized, post surgical, and cancer patients)? Or should I only talk about pain and not stress?
Thanks for your advice

Your paper is probably written by now but I would advise giving a general introduction about CAM (complementary and alternative medicine) and how it is being slowly accepted practice in certain areas. This you can get from a simple google search. You can probably get some good specific data from articles written for continuing education credit. Then I would use examples of the areas in which research has been done and describe, briefly some of the studies that have proven effective. I would conclude by describing where more research is being done...I would keep the topic broad if you are allowed to...the "health care issue" may be whether or not federal dollars will pay for the services (massage therapy, acupuncture, music therapy, aroma therapy, etc.)
