At any facility I've worked at, if you work overnights the night before the holiday (ie: christmas eve into christmas) counts as your holiday. Which sucks because you could end up working both christmas eve and christmas day! It's a little confusing, I would check with my manager to be sure... you shouldn't be working all three holidays!

We are 12 hour shifts but it doesn't matter 8 or 12 hours the night shift "holiday" is the eve of the holiday. We recognize 6 holidays a year: Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Chirstmas, New years. Our policy is you can't be scheduled more than 3 holidays a year and one of the three has to be a winter holiday (thanksgiving, christmas, or new years). We pay 1 1/2 time for working the holiday or eve. On my unit we are considering going to a set schedule for holidays where you will be assigned a group of three holidays (1 winter/2 summer or 2 winter 1 summer) and this will alternate each year.
