I’m on the scheduling committee for our PACU and I’m trying to get some ideas on how other units do their holiday call schedule. We currently have the 6 main holidays and 4 nurses assigned to each. The “holiday” includes the actual calendar holiday and then the Saturday and Sunday closest to the holiday. The four nurses assigned to the holiday work it out amongst themselves what shifts to work to get those three days covered. Does anyone else do it this way? If not, how does your unit do it?
