Hiring Process at LIJ Manhasset

Was this the group interview at NSLIJ Manhasset that took place the Wednesday after the Fourth of July? If so, my friend was there and she was called (I'm not sure by a recruiter or the Director of Nursing or Nurse Manager) last Tuesday, 7/12 and offered the job.

She said that at the end of the DON interview the DON told her that if she didn't hear back by the next week to call her. Have you tried that? From my friend's description there were close to 30 applicants there and they may not have the time to give a response to everyone.

My other friend who interviewed at NSLIJ at another time got a rejection email within a week.

So, it doesn't hurt to call and see if you are still in consideration. Best of luck, I hope you get good news.

Oh ok, congrats to your friend I'm happy for her. And yes it was that interview. The DON told me the same thing when I interviewed with her that day. So I will try contacting them to see what's going on because I Didnt get a rejection email neither. Thnx for the info. :-)

Your welcome. I also remember she told me there were 6-7 med-surg positions that particular Nurse Manager was hiring for but I think she said that applicants would also be considered for other positions in other NSLIJ hospitals. Hopefully, you get the job. But if not, call the recruiter who interviewed you and maybe you can interview for other positions, maybe straight to the Nurse Manager. Good luck!

I was told the same thing. The DoN did tell me that if I don't get the job it's not because they didn't think I was qualified its just that they have a lot of interviewers for a small amount of open positions. I am going to stay optimistic because she also did say that I woul most likely be considered for another position if anything. And I said before two weeks and still no rejection letter lol Thnx again I really appreciate it.
