Does anyone know if California has instituted a hiring freeze because of the states financial crisis? I can't seem to get an interview with San Quentin know matter what I do. They were all over me last year when I was a new grad, But ole stupid me wanted to get some experience first and now it's like talking to a brick wall.

My interpretation:
When I recently (last month) submitted my online test to the CDCR for a position, I was scored, and placed in a rather large pool of a couple of thousand. Also, there was an item of information that stated that they will contact you 3 times. Each time you decline, you are placed as inactive, requiring that call back to confirm you are still available (this does not seem to have happened in your particular case) If you decline all three, you are automatically dropped from the eligible list, and I think you can reapply after one year has transpired since your last listing test. If and when you reapply, you will be put at the back of the list. I think they move through the eligible list rather quickly, as they make invitations for interview.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
Appreciate the info.
Actually I was hoping to move back to Northern California. I guess I could check out Napa State Hosp. I also noticed that California is petitioning the Federal Govt. to regain control of the prison health care system. God knows what will happen if that occurs. Thanks for the reply. Definitely food for thought.
