Wierd topic line I know. I've been reading alot on these boards since I started nursing school. Haven't posted anything really yet. Not sure why? lol! But I do have a question that despite hours and hours of researching and asking... I cannot find answers to.
I am a nursing student in 4/6 semester. Our program switched from HESI to Kaplan. Everyone is getting 50-70 on these Focused Review tests. We are all flipping out because instead of Final Exams, each class is having Kaplan test as their Final and it's included in our actual grade. We have no way to study for these The instructors have no idea what is on them.
The instructors have said that after watching the sixth semester students take and score in these ranges that they will be using our "nationwide percentile" scoring instead of the low % that we have all been getting.
I have a 4.0 in nursing school so far but I really fear it's not for long!! These tests count enough to make a drastic difference in grade. It's so frustrating because I have worked so unbelievably hard to keep my 4.0 so far. These tests are like getting sucker punched. HESI was connected to our curriculum at least... the Kaplan, well the instructors have no idea what it's referencing. We don't know if we've been covering what is on the exams closely enough?
I have been searching everywhere for some kind of chart that shows what grade we might be getting if say we score a 76.7 on the Kaplan Integrated? or a 60%?
I have searched on the forums for about two weeks now regarding Kaplan testing and all of it relates to the NCLEX prep/qbank/trainer which isn't what we are taking.
Thanks so much for any replies. First Kaplan is 12/5.
