Hi all ,

Here is my problem , if anyone has any advice I really appreciate it!

I am currently a childcare in Home provider , basically work 6.30am to most days 5.30pm Mon to Friday usual daycare hours. I really really want to become an lpn or an rn , problem is can't attend full time and can't find a part time nights class. I know seminole college has a part time RN but was told I need to have a flex schedule once nursing begins and would have to be avail by 3pm somedays. so not really evenings hours all the time. I am soooooooo crushed and don't know what to do!! I am scared to give up my daycare income to go to school and also scrared I will not be able to find a job to fit school hours if I do especially right now. Please give advice!! my family lives overseas and don't really have anyone to ask that is experienced and going to school ect!! any replies will be great thanks all ps.. I also know there are lot's and lot's of ma classes at night which I have considered but my goal is RN and don't see that route will get me there!!:uhoh3:

I am running a licensed childcare out of my home and a junior in the nursing program. I would privately email you but I don't know if you have enough posts. I don't know if you can email me either but I am willing to talk...

Neer mind...figured it out-duh..

Hi! I live in Orlando too! Have you looked into Herzing nursing school in Winter Park? I don't know how felxible they are but I have heard good things about their program. Here's their link: http://www.herzing.edu/school.php?program=259

HI Thanks , yes they have it full time. They really need to offer more evening classes!!! Are you considering taking nursing also?

HI again, Can't figure out the private message either! . Will keep trying!!

I sent you an email. Just either click on the little envelope icon under the person's name you want to email or clicking their name should also make the envelope icon appear underneath. I think this is how ya do it.

Hi! I am also a home daycare provider and I am in my first year of LPN school. It can be very challenging but well worth it in the end! Your best bet would be to look into a "trade school" with an LPN program. I am in one now and they are rated the number 1 in my state. You can find one if you look hard enough. It is going to be very stressful on you especially the first few months learning how to manage your time but stick with it. Anything that is worth doing is hard!!! Well I hope you find a program that works for you. I am open to talk any time! [email protected]

Have you thought about this...? I knew a lot of people who would get a low level job in a big hospital before going to nursing school. Big hospital systems will often pay for a person to go to nursing school as a benefit, provided that you continue to work there for a year after you are done. Hospitals always need people at night and evenings, which would free you up during the day. Some ideas for jobs would be: EKG tech, nursing assistant, phlebotomist, unit secretary, nutrition (the people who take orders for meals), ER tech, etc. Some of these jobs need training before hand, but many hosptials will train you on the job. Also, you would get exposure to the hospital world, so to speak, and would be more comfortable once nursing school started.
