HH Parking Woes!!

I'm an LPN and have worked a case for 2 years. My patient lives in an apartment complex that does not have assigned parking spaces. My hours change according to mom's work schedule plus I handle all respite care hours. Although I try to be respectful as to where I park, I don't always have a choice given the time of day I arrive. I leave one night a week at 4:00a (respite) so I don't want to park far away. Yesterday my shift was over at 12:00 midnight, go to my car to find a note under my windshield. The note states it's not fair that I park in front of the persons townhouse and they have to park where they can (same as me when I get there). The note said I should wait for my "employer" to leave then use their parking space. Like I can go outside and leave my patient alone! What I'm most bothered by is the person who is complaining is also a Nurse. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this. The note mentioned other things but you get the gist!!!!!

Does the complex have visitor parking? You should also discuss this with your client. The person who left a note may leave notes for anyone who parks in front of their townhouse.

No to the visitor parking. I did find out today that each townhouse is alloted 2 parking spaces and my family has 1 vehicle. So, they don't have a leg to stand on. Thanks for the response.

First, I agree that it is tacky when people leave notes on windshileds. If they had a problem, they should address this in person or at least address it with the apartment complex manager.

Speaking of which - I would take this up with the manager and state the problem you are having. Occasionally, some counties will have special "caregiver permits" that you can appy for which allow you special parking privelidges in circumstances like this. They also might have a better sollution for you so you can avoid future run-ins with other tennants.

Second, never assume that just because someone is a nurse, that they will know better, be sympathetic, or always be supportive of their fellow collegues! This board is full of nurses complaining about other nurses! :-)
