Hi,

I am taking to HESI A2 test to try and get into a nursing program at my school. I am trtying to figure what tools to use for studying. I have researched and got mixed reviews on everything!! Gas anyone taken the HESI A2 and did the HESI A2 study guides help or did you use some other form of studying?? PLEASE HELP!!

Thanks

Hey,well i took the hesi a2 yesterday at lonestar college Kingwood, and basically for math, make sure you know all of your conversions.(liter to mililiters, ounces pints yards feet etc etc). The evolve elseiver is perfect for the math test. Also know your military time(2 questions on it). Make sure you know your conversions also, theres quite a few questions of them on the hesi a2. For anatomy and physiology, there are only 30 questions. Make sure you know your joint types, like hinge, ball and socket etc etc. Make sure you know what type of joint the elbow is. Make sure you know everything about females cycle, and how long it last, also the hormones involved. Know where the auditory canal is located. Know what muscles are in the thigh/femoris group. I missed a question about an ear infection or something. there was a question on mitosis but i forgot. Make sure u know the definitions of alot of medical terminology for vocab. Practice reading, and u are good.

well, I took the hesi a2 test last Saturday at NCTC. I used Evolve Hesi a2 review book to study. Guess what, if you know everything in that book, you'll probably get 100.. I mean if you don't make mistake...

I only had to take Math, reading and grammar. Math-> if you know everything from 8th grade, then you don't have problem. Reading, it's pretty simple but you have to kinda think before selecting an answer. Grammar? sorry, I can't give you comment about this section... I don't even know how I got 86% (I thought I totally bomb this part.. to me this is good T.T)

I took it on the 14th...got a 93.41% over all with a 96% on both Grammar and Vocab and a 95.65% on reading...and an 850 on critical thinking..and my lowest was 86% in math

BUY the Evolve Reach book! it is the BEST investment for this test! Everything it has on vocab really isn't important, but definitely look at the hints...PAY attention to everything it says about grammar and reading....and everything it says about math! do all the practice questions and the test in the book...it will help tremendously!!!!

I never had to take the science section so i can't comment on that...

If you DO have to take the critical thinking buy: Fundamentals success: A course review applying critical thinking to test taking

It is completely based on nursing, and will not only help for the test (everything in that book is on the critical thinking of the test!) but it will help for nursing classes once you get into your program, it even has a CD with it to help with the NCLEX test so for 28$ its worth every penny! I promise!!!

I took it Monday March 28th 2011. I got 83% but I think if I went through that study guide I could have done better.
