HESI A2 for Grand Canyon University

Published

I am taking the Hesi entrance exam for Grand Canyon University in about a week! I have been studying the hesi study guide book but I am still super nervous! I have to take the math, reading, grammar, vocab, biology, anatomy, and chemistry portions! Does anyone have any helpful advice? I would really appreciate it! Also, do they give you a periodic table for the chemistry portion or do you have to memorize it? Thanks so much!!

I honestly would not stress over the HESI. It is extremly easy and I actual know someone that got in the low 60's and still got accepted.

But ...for some advice on study material I used Admission Assessment Exam Review, 3eby HESI (2013)

McGraw-Hill's 3 Evolve Reach (HESI) A2 Practice Tests

These books will prepare you for exactly what the Math, reading, writing grammar and vocab will be like. As for the science portions there is no book that can help you besides old anatomy and chem books. There was no periodic table. There are some good online practice test for the science sections. The science sections are just so broad its hard to narrow down.

Best of luck to you and don't stress it. OH and there is a calculator for the math portion.

I just took it a couple of days ago and here's how it was:

Math: LOTS of fractions. Make sure you know how to add/subtract/multiply/ divide em, including improper fractions.

Chemistry: Don't think you have to memorize the periodic table. Just now about the basics and reactions.

Biology: The proctor said we didn't have to take it but I did anyway :D. Know about cells (organelles, functions and reproduction).

Vocabulary: Most of the words that were in the Evolve Reach Admission Assessment Exam Review were on the test.

Like ScrubGirl said don't stress too much about the test. As long as you studied, had a good night sleep and ate breakfast, you'll be fine ;D. Good Luck!
