Hello there. I have been sifting through lots of threads about the Hesi A2 and found them to be so helpful. I am taking the Hesi in about two and a half weeks and I'm a bit nervous about the Chemistry. I am 38 years old and I haven't taken Chemistry since the 11th grade. For the school I am applying to they test you on Grammar, Reading comprehension, vocabulary, biology, A&P and Chemistry. I've been studying up on these topics and think I'll do okay but I'm still really nervous about the Chemistry. For my program we don't have to have college level Chemistry. We just had to have it in high school. If I was a young pre-nursing student that would be fine. Ha.
Anyway, my concern is are there any actual questions about balancing chemical equations? In my review book it did have some but I seem to remember reading somewhere the actual test was more basic. Thanks in advance for any input!

Hello Corinne1077,
How did the HESI turn out for you? Was the chemistry basic? I'm taking mine soon and nervous about this portion as well!
I actually scored a 96 on the chemistry portion. I couldn't believe it. It was pretty basic. I honestly think I just got lucky on some though. I got a 89 overall and at our school average is 82 so I'm okay with that. Good luck on your test as well! I was so glad to get it over with.
That's awesome! Congratulations! Did you have to calculate the mole or balance equations? Or was it more basic then that?
Nope, no calculations like that at all. It was definitely more basic.
