Hi - I'm a nursing student so I don't know about working in the L/D dept - BUT, I currently work for the business office for HDH (as well as about 40 other HCA hospitals!) and I can assure you it is one of the BEST facilities in the Richmond area. As for the area...WELL known for the L/D dept (there are 2 campuses for this hospital - Forest and Parham...Forest is where to go for L/D). It is located in the "West End" of Richmond. It's about 30 minutes (if that) from Downtown Richmond...also Western Henrico County. Hope this helps...if you have any other specific questions...I'd be happy to try to help you!

I had heard mixed reviews about "HCA" hospitals so it is good to hear something positive.

I absolutely LOVE HCA - I worked for them for a few years, left to work for a doctor's office and have been back for about 3 years now. I hope to stay on with HCA once I graduate...My sister delivered all 3 of her children at HDH (Forest Campus) and was very please with the dept (they have LDR and then transfer to another room for PP). I delievered at CJW (Johnston Willis Campus) and HIGHLY recommend it...that's actually where I want to go to work...they have the most LDRP SUITES in the state of VA! It's like being in a hotel - HAHA...sorry - didn't mean to get off on something else...but for what it's worth - I highly recommend HCA as a whole! :up: :up:
