Ok so this is probably a really dumb question, but I have nursing assistant orientation at st. clare's hospital next week, should i show up monday in scrubs?? I don't know if they have a specific color, or give specific scrubs out because I know I see people with their logo stamped on them. What should I do?! Thanks in advance. I just don't want to look like an idiot.

I'd call the hospital and ask. Often the first few days of orientation are "hospital orientation" where you go over general policies, mission, values, and employee handbook that apply to all new hires, not just patient care employees. For these days, professional attire is fine. Then after the general orientation you will start going to your floor for your specific nursing orientation, where you need to wear scrubs. The dress code and requirements should be outlined to you before you go to the floor.

But, to avoid any worry or confusion, simply call human resources, tell that what date your orientation is supposed to start, and ask whether you should wear scrubs or professional clothes. You can also wear professional clothes but bring a bag with your scrubs and shoes in case you need to change.

Thanks Ashley! I called human resources twice and she never called me back. I think I'll wear professional attire and bring a bag like you said. Thanks so much for that advice, I appreciate it!
