Anyone give me advice on working L&D in Greenville, NC? I have heard a lot of horror stories about the facility, but have recently relocated to the area and would love to cut out my 30 min am commute! I have 2 years L&D experience at a small hospital, and I would be scared to death, but I think it worth the gas savings if this is a nice place to work. :uhoh21:

I can't help you with that specific facility but I can tell you that before I went to work on the L&D floor at my hospital, I heard all sorts of horror stories about how awfu the nurses were and I found it not to be true.

I am currently working in the facility you are talking about in L&D. PM me with specific questions and we can talk.:nuke:

Ragingmomster, I tried to PM ya, but your box must be full. It says you gotta clear some space. Thanks

OKAY!

PM box is cleaned out. I had stuff in there from 2003!

Are you a relatively new grad? Do you have experience in ante-peri-post partum and normal newborns? Do you have experience in Med Surg?

Ragingmomster:

Hi. I graduated in 2001, pulled 2 years of Med/Surg, then did pediatrics for a few years. (office) I have been working L&D for about a year and a half now, we have to rotate thru OB, L&D, GYN, and Newborn Nsy. I really enjoy my job, don't really love the facility. I have a great schedule, no nights anymore. I live in greenville now, and wonder if your facility would be a good fit for me, but I don't want to give up my good schedule for a new crappy one. I don't know, I guess just pondering the situation.

Thanks a bunch

Sounds like the perfect combination of experience for our unit. Are you interested in working full or part time?

Either way I am sure our ANM's would love to talk to you. Probably your best bet would be to fill out an online application at uhseast.com.

I will tell you right now that we are a hard unit to work in. We get the sickest patients from 29 East Carolina counties and work our butts off almost every day. We do 3500 deliveries a year. We don't float outside the division ever, and rarely float out of L&D.

PM me if you want names!

Good luck!
