Often CV surgons/ICU's have a specific protocol for their hearts. Ie. They can receive so many plasmanates/albumin based on filling pressures (PA, CVP), bp, u/o etc. at the RN's discretion. The RN's are trained to make these decisions, follow a certain protocol and notify the MD with any major changes/problems.
