I hope you guys can help. I just received a call for an interview in ICU. I will be interviewing for a position in MICU at a trauma I hospital in ATL. I was a LPN for 13 years, I've been a RN for 2.5 years, but no ICU experience. Can you guys give me any advice regarding the interview. I am nervous because I am not sure what type of questions I will be facing.

I would just be honest in answering your questions. Of course critical care is new to you, so don't expect your interviewee to ask you specific questions based on what goes on in the unit, if they do, just say I don't know the answer to that. In my interview, I was just asked questions such as ABC questions, such as, "What would you do if you noticed your patient having SOB but 02 sat was 98%? Or, what would you do if you noticed your pt pulseless?" Questions like that were in my interview and nothing about ICU material. I was honest and relaxed and have been in the MICU for almost a year now. Good Luck on your interview and let us know how everything went for you. I'm sure you will do fine, they need you!:)
Thank you so much for replying. The interview went well, and I think she may hire me. I just felt a lot of positivity. I won't know anything till the second week of January. I can tell that the job is stressful, but I am looking forward to it.
