Anna- yes it's gluteal (autocorect got me again lol)
Update: the wound is between her gluteal fold and labia and measures 4×1×3. Wound bed moist 50% red and 50 tan/brwn and has little to no drainage. The current treatment is to apply hydrogel onto a packing strip and loosely pack then cover with silicone bordered gauze. My struggle is that the pt is incontinent and paraplegic and refuses to have a Foley catheter so the dressing becomes soiled and changed frequently in one day. I know this would will heal as long as I can keep the urine out and the dressing on long enough.
Some questions I have...
-Is packing necessary? If so, is packing strips right or hydrogel gauze?
-would a wet to dry be better?
-what kind of dressing would be appropriate?

I have a pt with a gluten wound 4cm x .5 x 4. The wound bed is clean and red with small bloody drainage. What would be an appropriate order for this treatment? The pt is incontinent and paraplegic.
I just started working with wounds and I'm learning alot. But I'm having a hard time trying to figure out the appropriate treatment and dressings for each wound. There are so many ointments, dsgs, packing etc. Anyone know a good reference site or material that explains all this?
