Help-Cna-Requirement-OBRA

Published

Hello everyone,

I'm writing this on behalf of my mother. She has been a caregiver for many years and has had a CNA cert for the past three. In her time as a CNA she hasn't gone through an agency or organization for employment. Her employer(s) have been through word of mouth and working with families directly. She wants to start working for a hospital. Each year she hasn't completed her 12 hour minimum for annual education to meet OBRA's requirements. So my question is do you just go to a CNA school for these hours and have the minimum hours been increased (she's in Washington if that matters).

I've done a quick online search and nothing specific has resulted.

Thank you,

Shane
