Help. Choosing the right nursing school. Northeastern, Simmons, MCPHS, MGH, UMassA, Elms

Published

Hi Everyone. I applied to accelerated BSN programs in Mass and I am out of state so I am not sure which programs are the best. Currently I am accepted at NEU for the accelerated 16 month program (lectures online), and Simmons 2 year program, yay :). I haven't heard from the other programs yet.

Northeastern requires a very son decision and I am very tempted as the program is short, but I am not sure how I will fare with having the lectures online (I have heard the faculty that records the lectures does not make the exams, is that true?). I have also heard that NEU places students all over the place (far away) for clinicals, while Simmons tries to get you to Boston hospitals and it also has a very solid classroom experience

. Any help with ranking would be appreciated as well as any students that have gone to the above mentioned schools. How are classes, and lectures? Is there NCLEX prep integrated into it and what are job prospects after graduation. I have heard both good things about NCLEX pass rates of NEU and Simmons. The other thing that worries me is the cost of the programs. NEU is about 67,000, but for the life of me I can't find how many credits I will take at Simmons to calculate the tuition cost.

Thanks guys :)
