Any Mexican or other foreign educated nurses that may be able to help me with some advice?

I am a nurse from Mexico with a bachelors degree in nursing and years of experience. I married a US citizen a little over a year ago and have my green card. I've been stuck with CGFNS not helping me to certify my credentials (via the Credentials Evaluation Service Professional Report process) so that I can take the NCLEX here in Ohio.

The issue is the SEP (Secretaría de Educación Pública) which handles nursing licensing in Mexico has stated that they have a policy to not send forms by courier, and also they do not fill out third party forms (e.g. forms from CGFNS).

CGFNS has a requirement that the SEP fill out their form, seal it and send it by courier, certifying my nursing license in Mexico.

I have been back and forth between the SEP and CGFNS, and neither will budge on their policy. However, I know there are many Mexican educated nurses working in the US. How were you able to get past this stumbling block?

Also, my understanding is that the state of Ohio doesn't even require that her nursing license in Mexico be verified, all they need to do is verify that her education is equivalent to allow me to take the NCLEX. Has anyone been able to get CGFNS to waive the requirement for the Nursing License portion on the Credentials Evaluation Service Professional Report?

Any help is appreciated. I have the education required to do this job it's just so frustrating now. It's taking over a week to get a response back from either CGFNS or the SEP. I just want to take the NCLEX and get back to work.

Hola,

Im from Mexico too. Which nursing school did you go to?

I know what you are talking about, I have been trying to get the License Verification from SEP, Just recently I went to Mexico and I requested a Constancia de no Inhabilitacion, but the letter has not been pick up, and I do not know if they will send it to CGFNS. I will give you my email address, if you want to contact me so we can talk and share our experiences. There are not many Mexican nurses doing this process, or at least I have not met many. Just a few. And we are facing the same difficulties.

Hi! I'm a Mexican nurse going through the process of getting my credentials validated so I can take the NCLEX, due to the pandemic and other bureaucratic stuff, SEP Is taking forever to fill out that form you need (constancia de registro de título y no sanción).

I'm pretty close to the process my sponsor is making trying to get that form, so whenever I get news from them, maybe that's when you could try to get it from them.

As they said to you, they do not send forms, the only two options would be if you go directly to mexico city or get someone to get it with a PODER NOTARIAL that specifies exactly what it is to be delivered written in the form, only a notario público can do that and I ignore if there are any ways of getting that (poder notarial) form anywhere out of Mexico.

I hope and that helps a little, let me know if you need any more info and I'll try to investigate here!
