Hello all!

Published

I'm a fairly new CNA, so excited to find my first job and really put it to use! While I was going through training I would frquent this site and it's actually helped me get this far, so I finally made an account. Yay! =]

So I've been sending out applications and really hoping to get an interview, pretty nervous. I can't leave my current job until I have something steady. I'd rather work in a hospital setting, but I'm of course applying to nursing homes as well.

I was hoping for some advice from seasoned CNAs! What to expect, what do you love/hate about your job, anything to help me learn. I'm happy to be a part of such an awesome community, any input is helpful, or just say hello!

Thanks! ^.^

How hard is it to get a job? What do employers look for? Does hospital volunteer experience look good?

I graduated last month and got my state test results on the 31st. I've been applying ever since, still heard no word back. Your state might be different, though, it depends on the job market there.

Taliez, where are you located? Everyone else on the site seems to have trouble finding work, but in Central NJ almost everyone in my class has received more than one offer without applying to more than 15 places. As for experience, I'll let you know, I start my job on Monday (a little nervouse!)

Good luck!
