Hello everyone in the great state of Nebraska! My sis has been in the hospital since last Tuesday eve, I think. I believe the name is Midland Hospital? She is from Plattsmouth. My other sis set up a three way call, so we got to talk with her today. She sounded tired, speech sl slurred, but ok. She was having stroke symptoms, but I'm told no actual stroke. She had a blockage in one carotid artery taken care of, and it sounds like B/P problems, possibly elevated glucose? I'm just getting tidbits of info from her husband. I am sorry for any trouble he may have caused staff. Sounds like he may have "gone off" on a few folks, based on what he related to me. My sis is so sweet though. She has had a struggle in life! At age 16 she had a terrible car accident. In those days, I don't remember if they even had seat belts. Anyhow, she was pinned in the wreckage, had severe brain injury, bone splinters in her brain, surgery, coma, collapsed lung, trach, etc. They never expected her to survive, but she did! Later married, had children and several grandchildren. She was left with balance problems, dilated/fixed pupil, vision problems, emotional lability sometimes. She is well loved in her community. If this sounds like your patient, bless you for the care you've given her. I cannot afford to travel there any time soon, so hope all will be well and she will heed the doctor's and nurse's follow-up instructions. Thank You! Please post if you know her.
