HEEELLLLPPP LVN friends!!!!!

Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

Hello to all...well I am a new graduating nurse since March of this year and I am so eager to get my hands dirty of course, but unfortunately I am unable to find anything that suits my needs. I am here in DTown, Tx and have found no one to work for that keeps my attention. I am currently doing allergy testing and trying to move up within the company, but everything I am striving for is nothing that I BUST my butt off for in nursing school for almost 2 yrs! Ugggggh, so frustrating! I am an LVN who wants to pursue her education and become an RN soon...but I can't even get a good job let alone go to school to become something better in life. Then I have been working doing nothing that has to do with my nursing skills, therefore I feel as if everything I learned is wasting away. Nursing Fam...help me out with suggestions and motivation because I feel alone in this and don't know who to turn to for the right advice because all of my other LVN friends are doing so well in there home health fields (which I also am not a fan of). What do I do now?

Specializes in 4.

It's really hard for LVN's right now (RN's too). Hang in there, it will get easier. I have been licensed since May and yes, I am working. I am doing something that pays the bills but I don't like sitting on my behind all day. I'd rather be active, up & walking around helping people. Helping people is why I wanted to be a nurse. Not $$ or any other reason but it will get easier. Just hang in there & don't give up.

If you live in California (in San Diego, Los Angeles or San Fran areas) there are positions for LVN's at Flu Clinics. Just need 1 year of LVN experience and some clinic experience.

You know @ mary_lvn I am already doing flu clinics here in Tx part time, but jumping from job to job isn't why I wanted to be a nurse. I hope to find something more stable soon. Plus it looked bad on my record if I continue to jump from job to job
