Anxiety stemming from death

  1. I have been a nurse for almost 5 years, and my mother passed away 3 weeks before I graduated nursing school. Over the years, I have felt that I have managed my stress pretty well by journaling, talking to a few counselors, working things out with my changing family. The last few years, I have also lost my grandparents, and dealing with all the changes along with trying to help my young sister find her way in life has left me a bit frazzled. So now I feel like i have anxiety and stresses that are not normal, and I am looking for some help again. Does anyone reccommend a good med for GAD? My sister feels some mixed things about Paxil....I think I might need to try a med and try to go speak to someone again to try to find some peace with things. Thanks for any advice.

Sometimes life's stressors or circumstances can be so overwhelming that professional help is warranted. It is beyond the scope of our bulletin board to offer medical advice as to specific medications that may help you with anxiety; only your primary care provider is qualified to do so. We do care and wish you wholeness and peace.
