Hello everyone!
I will be taking the Hesi health assessment exit exam in a little over a month. I'm wondering if anyone can give me general tips for taking the exam. Any advice is appreciated! Thank you!
Here's an update on the exam.
I scored over 1000. I didn't really study for it other than quickly reading over my class notes. I was worried about how the questions would be worded because i've heard many horror stories about Hesi exams, but it honestly was not bad at all. Here are some things to know:
Assess ADLs
bowel sounds
Test for lung consolidation ( bronchophony, egophony, and whispered pectoriloquy)
jugular vein distention( don't need sethescope)
Normal lung sounds and their locations (bronchial, bronchiovesicular, and vesicular)
quadrants of the stomach( umbilicus, epigastric etc.
normals and abnormal for older adults
mole abnormals
Smoking ( packs per day x pack years)
Testicular self examination
2 point discrimination
Position for rectal exams
and a few other things I can't remeber. I'll try to add as more comes to me. If I can pass, you can too!! Good luck to anyone taking this exam and any other Hesi exam!
