I'm going through my last pre-req courses and the closer I get to the nursing program the more nerves I get. I really just want to do a good job. I have a lot riding on me finishing school so I have so much more pressure that I really need. I really just have to pace myself and see the bigger picture. I really want a better life for my family and I want to do something I love.

I just graduated from HCC. The only thing I can tell you is make sure you have some financial help during your 2 years of nursing school.
The 2nd and 4th semesters are the hardest. GOOD LUCK! let me know if you have any questions about the program.
Thanks!!!

I am a nurse at St Joseph Hospital and HCC students come there all the time....I had 2 with me just last week....I worked full time while going to the program ...so it is something that can be done....just no going out and partying or fooling around....it was all business till I graduated.....study, work study school....all I did.....
Of course some people can work and study, but not everyone is the same. Some of us have kids. I was in a class of 23 and only 5 of the students worked during the last semester.
I never said I didn't have kids.....hubby had my step kids with us....had to work to pay bills....so I had to work, school, family, house ...etc...
I also worked semesters I, II, and half of III and before I entered the program I had twins.
All I was trying to explain is that the HCC curriculum was changed 2 years ago and semesters III and IV have a lot of material to cover. Not to mention all the projects that you have to do. In the last semester you have class for the first 8 weeks, every week you either have a test or a quiz. Then for the next few weeks you have complete 84 hours of preceptorship, do a community project, attend a nursing association meeting and take 2 HESIS.
Best of luck to you Sincere24.
