From the very beginning of my whole application process, I have been debating about which school I want to attend. I was accepted to Hawaii as a "nursing BSN", however with further research, I discovered that I was actually a pre-nursing student who would later apply to the nursing program after I complete my pre-reqs and await the arrival an acceptance, hopefully. At Hawaii, I was offered a scholarship of $46,000 the would be given over the spread of the 4 years.

Azusa was originally my first choice school because the nursing program has a phenomenal reputation. I understood that getting into the nursing program at Azusa was going to be a tough competition and I from what I was told, there was not a waiting list. I went to the all access weekend where you stayed in the dorms, sat in lectures, and just experienced the whole vibe of it. I absolutely loved every bit of it and the people were so welcoming. I was accepted into the school in January, however I had to wait for the nursing letter until April 1. I did receive a rejection letter from Azusa and I wasn't as sad as I thought I would be because I had been mentally preparing for worst case scenario.

During April, I had accepted my acceptance to Hawaii and made the housing payments and confirmation payments which totaled to a nonrefundable $700. I was excited about going to school in paradise and I had already started talking to my future roommates. Getting rejected from Azusa confirmed my decision to HPU. I was ready to go to Hawaii.

Plans all changed on May 14th. I received a phone call from the director of the nursing program at Azusa telling me that 10 spots had opened up and she offered me one. I was definitely not expecting this. Everything seemed so in place with Hawaii, but now I have to make this decision AGAIN. I thought I had made the right one with Hawaii, but now I'm not so sure. I have made a list of pros and cons and I would love any advice about how to make the right choice.

Hawaii

Pro- new environment, new adventure, small class sizes, $46,000 scholarship

Con- expensive in Hawaii, have to apply to nursing school my 2nd year

Azusa

Pro- already in the nursing program, close to home, great atmosphere

Con- too close to home, expensive private school

Thank you!
