I don't think the op stated she wanted her kids too sleep away from home. I think for her the only job she can get is night shift. Unfortunately trying to get a job as a new RN , you get the more undesirable shifts. If you don't have family too help , you do what you have too. She may not have a choice. I worked nights, my children survived
If my wife didn't stay home, we'd have a serious issue. It's complicated, but if she ends up being deported for any reason (still may happen-I don't want to get into detail at the moment), then I'll be in dire straits. I do 12hr nights. I've almost always done nights, since I'm nocturnal anyway. I researched nannies, babysitter, etc. It's bad 'cause you need someone to stay the night (just in case), then stay the day, while you're sleeping.

I am a new grad RN. I am starting to get interviews but now I am starting to wonder about childcare while working 7p-7a. I have a 6 year old and a 2 month old. I am wondering how moms who are nurses do it while working 12 hour shifts which is non traditional in terms of daycares that are only open during business hours. I have no family members who can help us.
Does anyone know of any 24 hour operated childcare centers in Phiily??
